Fist visit to Ulvia's today, it was a perfect experience.
We ordered a carnitas burrito, tamale, and chicken enchiladas. I have zero complaints. Staff was friendly and attentive, ingredients were fresh. The salsa had a nice kick to it. And just look at how colorful everything is! I also liked that there is outdoor seating. Beats Fiesta Grill (or any other Chapel Hill Mexican restaurant) any day! -

Pro: Clean establishment with fast service. Con: food is just okay, really nothing special. The chips are terrible and the salsa could use some kick.

It is what it is ... Americanized Mexican or Latino food ... simple menu ... fast service ... clean ... nice people cooking and serving. It's a local inexpensive version of what Americans think Latino food should be ... all well done. Never had a bad experience ... maybe eaten there 50 times.

Quality Food Reviews ..
Ulvias is a consistently decent food stop. The food is prepared timely and the staff is always friendly.
I've had several items off the menu, including quesadillas*, tacos, hamburgers and a dessert. A few of the items are great, and some less so* (though never terrible).
A few things are a tad overpriced for the average working man, but nothing that will break the bank. I'd even go as far to say the hamburger is good value, though you may be shunned by onlookers as an adult not eating Spanish cuisine.
All in all it is worth being called A-OK and worth trying for yourself. -

Dinner: 09/16/2016 ~ First time eating at Ulvia's and I thoroughly enjoyed it ... I had the Fajitas with the meat combo (Steak, Chicken and Shrimp) with a generous amount of Fried Sweet Pepper and Onion all which came sizzling hot and accompanied with Rice and Refried Beans on the side; plus Lettuce, Tomato and Onion drizzled with Sour Cream and 4 Corn Tortillas. A couple of the pieces of Steak were a little grissley, the Chicken was melt-in-your-mouth and the Shrimp was perfectly done (not overcooked), and I thought everything was very flavorful. Had a tasty cup of coffee. There was so much meat that I wound up bringing leftovers home. I had 3 dinner companions and although I do not recall what they ordered, they cleaned their plates. Service was spot on.
I would recommend it and will very likely go again.
